TealOS: brings webOS to Palm OS

21 February 2009 by Shaun 7 Comments

TealPoint has released TealOS which brings more than a touch of the webOS look to current Palm OS devices- “More than just a visual skin, TealOS is a multi-functional application launcher that gives your time-honored handheld the exciting look and feel of the newest devices. Providing a powerful and intuitive way to organize your activities and work flow, it runs under PalmOS but simulates the card-based interface of WebOS on the new Palm Pre. TealOS comes complete with support for thumbnail image cards, a translucent applications screen, customizable background images, and even a popup wave launcher. While keeping your existing phone and applications, it’s the next best thing to a brand new phone.

TealOS requires PalmOS 5. Scroll down to see a video of it in action!”

I downloaded the demo. Shows a lot of promise! I’d use it as my main launcher if there was a functionality to move/copy files to SD card as in ZLauncher (which I’ve been using for years).

I think it’s great. It can move/copy to the card unlike what KevinA said.

:-) This is great! Trust the guys at TealPoint to come up with something so cool & useful.

    JasonB,

Could you explain how to do this? I couldn’t find the functionality on the app or in the manual. Maybe I’m getting blind in old(er) age.

    Clarification:
I can move it but cannot create a shortcut enabling me to access it from my launcher without having to go through a file manager.

Thanks for clarifying KevinA, you are right there is no shortcut feature, that is frustrating to me too. I plan on writing them because I think that’s a great feature that it should have. You should write also.

    JasonB.,
I already did brotha. When I noticed the absence of this functionality last Friday, I sent them an email. Don’t forget to write them. Maybe our two requests will inspire change ;^)
