Is your smartphone password protected on the front screen and do you secure personal information such as bank details etc. within contacts or dedicated applications such as eWallet?

I’ve never routinely “password locked” my phones. I guess I should, but frankly it would be a right PITA to have to enter a password every time I picked up the phone.

I did try it for a while once when I had my Treo 680, but quickly gave it up because it irritated the hell out of me.

I have though always used a password vault type application – eWallet is my preferred one on all platforms, for especially sensitive info like passwords, PINs, account info etc.

I’m with Statto – I should, but it irritates me.
So, I’m just really extra careful with the device and of course… sensitive data is well protected and encrypted – 3nity.
I don’t use the system security mask though… I tend to keep all sensity data inside 3nity.

I don’t bother that much in Portugal not having security, but I’m a bit concerned when and if I go to London…

Pin and phone lock on 5 min idle. Also for the E71 in my company is thinking of applying the encryption option.

I use Crypto on my Nokia E60 to lock down a few personal files.

Too be honest, I still need to find something for my Touch.

Entering a PIN each time I want to use my phone is a hassle.
