Microsoft intends to let purchasers of software from the upcoming Windows Marketplace run the software on up to 5 devices. There will also be a 24 hour no quibble guarantee on all purchases and remember that the devices will need to be running Windows Mobile 6.5 to use the Marketplace.
This is a good move for customers of course and it differentiates well from the alternative offerings from RIM and Apple, but software developers may not feel the same. One thing that is needed is a reason to develop for a platform and these ones appear to be aimed at selling more hardware, not software. More at Computerworld.
