I am a new Sprint customer having just left Verizon. I am interested in thr Pro 2. Where can I purchase it and will Sprint give me service without it being astronomical in price because I didn’t purchase it from Sprint?

can’t speak for the TP1 as I never tried one, but for those with a TyTn2 I don’t think you’ll look back for a moment.

Doing a comparison review at the moment (since I still have a tytn2), all the signs are good (apart from the niggling lack of support for the WVGA screens at the moment).

Thanks for the review. I have aTP1 and your column has sold me, I like the larger screen and tilt as well as the keyboard looks laid out better. I am in the US and on Sprint, so I hope they don’t cripple it too much, I switched to SPB Mobile Shell 3 and ditched HTC interface, the TP2 sounds much nicer.

The TP2 is thinner, but heavier and wider. The performance is a lot better and with the 6.5 upgrade, it will improve even more. The TP2 does have more features like a better screen, better keyboard, and the camera has improved. I would upgrade if the price is not an issue.

How would you compare the Touch Pro II with the Touch Pro I in terms of size, performance, features… Is it worth upgrading?

I would disagree about some windows mobile devices being always snappy. In my experience ALL winmo phones slow down eventually- and your sudden return of performance when you formatted the 8GB card made me think – maybe it’s some sort of fragmentation issue in winmo devices that results in the eventual slowdown? Food for thought…

Finally had to make a decision so have ordered a black Nokia N97. But if with WM6.5 the Pro2′s speed improves, may need to think about it.

Great review – thanks very much. I got tired of waiting for a uk operator to announce it’ plans for the pro2 so ordered one from Clove yesterday. I’m hoping that it will arrive today so that I can be very sad and play with it all weekend . It will be replacing my trusty tytn II.
