We have asked this question before, but any mention of backups is always a good thing. How often do you backup your smartphone or PDA and do you backup any expansion cards?

I have a very ad-hoc backup strategy at the moment. I use Google’s sync feature for contacts and calendar(Diamond and iPod Touch), and MyPhone to daily back up texts. I also use Sprite Backup about once a month so I can restore quickly if needed.
Then I keep cab files on the Internal Storage, so again I can do a fresh install if I do some damage while tweaking!
A good question though, as my internal storage is not actually backed up, so what would I lose if it got corrupted?
I leave the backups to Synch Centre on the computer when I dock the phone in it’s cradle. I only keep software and media files on the expansion card, and as software is backed up on and from the computer’s HDD along with media, then that is covered.
So I guess critcal data is backed up each time it is docked, so at least once per day.
I have 3 devices as follows:
1. Clie TH-55 – my life is in here. I’m very carefull with it and I backup every week to the card and to the PC.
2. HTC Cruise smartphone – I don’t care with what happens here… it doesn’t have PIM good enough. I use a backup utility, but if something goes wrong, I don’t care much. The only PIM I use is to note somethings urgent that I pass on to the TH55 afterwards.
3. Nokia 6600… it could go to the trash bin that I wouldn’t feel a thing. It’s used for occasional calls and it has lots of games for the kids to play around. If they mess it up, that’s fine
BTW… after reading it here, I tried My Phone from Microsoft in the HTC. It works fine. The only thing is that now I’m stuck with WM devices in the future, right?
