QOTD: The ‘New’ 247?

When the new PDA-247 was put up a number of you were very vocal about the way the site now works. Some of you were happy and others not so. Today’s questions is have you gotten used to the new 247 or would you prefer a more simplistic design?

I preferred the original design, it as easier to read and looked better. I love the content of your site but hate the current design so stick with the mobile version.

The site looks very simplistic. But it looks very hectic.
Everywhere bling bling, the headline is too big and appears twice on the site.
All in all not better, but not too far away from the original, still not as good, though.

Hi sorry but I dislike the new design will you consider reverting to the original look?

I prefer the old layout, but the new clean look
perhaps you can blend the two styles. I agree that the new site is too hectic and the double headline is annoying.

    However, the content is good!

I still feel the adverts crowd the news stories somewhat, but it’s a matter of perspective I suppose (currently looking at a bank of 8 blinking squares of ads in the right of my peripheral vision..).

That said, I understand they’re there for a reason and have to go somewhere.

I do like the top section with the headline/features etc though.

I’m slowly getting used to it, and the tweaks you’ve made have made it better.

I do still find the ads obtrusive, though as others have said, understand you need them (are they effective though for you in income stream terms?)

As one other poster has noted, I find the double headline – or rather a pick of one of the days stories a bit irritating, but the “Featured” section is nice.

I do still prefer the older site – time will tell, though, things have to move on…

The ads are overwhelming, but I guess they provide $$$ to keep the site funded. I’d rather a simpler approach, but if it means the site going away, I’ll just get my sunglasses on!
