I'll agree battery list has suffered a bit but not overwhelmingly so. I'm delighted with 3.0 and can't believe you'd ever consider going back to 2.2 and lose spotlight search. Batterylife is a bit worse and the system speed is becoming a bit irritating. the keyboard is lagging a little bit and starting up apps is taking a lot longer. My phone is not jailbroken and I've done a restore without any improvements. It almost seems Apple has carefully chosen for this speed reduction to make you look for a 3GS. Going back to 2.2 could be a problem because of the upgraded baseband. Upgrading to the 3GS also isn't an option because of the costs.
