How to beat the App Store? One man (or woman) developers…

10 June 2009 by Shaun One Comment

homebrewengadget has posted some screenshots of a homebrew Palm Pre application that has been built in seemingly no time at all. Just maybe this is a way for Palm to tackle the success of the iTunes App Store? If enough developers got on board there could be a huge market out there for homemade software and this may even tempt some of the developers who are now concentrating on other platforms to return to the fold.

The only potential problem would be stability if few controls are in place. Having said that, how many games and apps crash on the iPhone which have supposedly been through the tight Apple development process?

this is what i like about windows mobile, i can easily transfer .net windows apps i have written over to compact framework and share them as freeware or opensource without paying apple or requiring people to jailbreak their device… And people claim MS is overly controlling of their users LOL
