News Round-up: 6th June 2009
There is now a list of supported applications at the MotionApps Classic site. Nice to see some old favourites in there such as Trip Boss, Warfare Incorporated and Bejeweled 2. If you do get your hand on a Pre today at least you can get started with some third party add-ons immediately. Hopefully this will cause a renewal in Palm OS software sales, and if you take the plunge feel free to use discount code ‘palmpre’ to obtain a 20% discount on all Palm OS software in our store.
Forbes has posted an interview with Palm’s Matias Duarte, Mike Bell, Peter Skillman and Michael Abbott who talk about how they designed the Palm Pre. There’s lots of talk about grassy fields and Zen gardens, but don’t let that put you off:) MobileTechReview has now posted a review of the Palm Pre- it seems that the big sites are putting a lot of effort into these reviews and I feel like I know it well already.
FT.com is reporting that Apple will release a cheaper iPhone on Monday. The expected price is $149 (possibly as low as $99) and you will need to register for free to read the whole article.
Facebook for BlackBerry 1.6 is now available and includes status updates and highlights on the home page, wall access and photo viewing in a new slide-show format.
New pictures of the Xperia X2 appear to reveal an 8.1 megapixel camera, and give more evidence to a Psion 5MX style keyboard. I can take or leave the camera, but the keyboard looks fantastic!
Piel Frama has already released a new case for the HTC Touch Pro2 which looks like a good fit. It even works with the Pro2 in opened mode which is an obvious advantage.
In site news, some small tweaks have been made to PDA-247 as requested by yourselves. Expect more improvements soon…
