I have used NE-7M on an iPod Touch 2G and it was too loud. I had to put to the minimum volume possible and it was still too loud. I should have found GoodReader earlier. I have to use it to use volume at pleasant levels. If I use the music player by Apple, it's too loud. I have put the volume limit to the minimum. It limits the sound at where I have set it but it's not relative. What I mean is that if I put a low volume limit, I would like with the volume control to make even lower with that new limit. It just doesn't work like that, unfortunately. I have even tried to adjust the volume in iTunes for the audio files I want to listen to, with no result.

Now, I am probably stuck with tinnitus and possibly hearing loss. I will get myself checked and I don't feel optimistic about this. Damn and I am the kind of person who cares about hearing and low volume. They may be iPod Touch compatible, but that doesn't mean that the sound intensity is okay. That's the only big problem I have with them. I had to say that because I feel very sad about that issue and could not resist staying in my corner alone. Spread the word.

Fortunately, there is GoodReader and Yxflash. I only recommend the first because Yxflash has sound problems and I haven't seen support to fix this at all. Playing sound is not the main function of GoodReader. By attempting to find a good PDF reader, the same app allows me to listen to audio at an even lower volume.

I will not only be negative about this. I find they are very good, beside that problem. One of the factors were the price and the good amount of isolation. The people who listen to binaural or isochronic tones will understand me :).

If it's possible with other programs, why Apple doesn't just allow us to set an even lower volume than that? For the people who have jailbroken their iPod, they don't seem to get so much results neither. I may be off topic there but this problem might arise not only with NE-7M, but other headphones and action should be taken before we get people with tinnitus and with learning loss who care about their ear health. I have been looking if someone talked about hearing loss with this specific model with an iPod Touch or iPhone. If you are in the same kind of situation as me, I wish you the best in the care and continue.

I agree, but I haven't used the others. The sound makes them excellent value. Interesting user name???

I've just bought a pair of the Nuforce NE7M after reading this and various other reviews on-line. I'm a bit of a headphone fan and previously had a pair of Etymotic ER4P - these were recently destroyed by a tragic Hoover accident. The Etymotics cost around £170 compared to £65 for the Nuforce...so my expectations were that they would be significantly inferior in terms of overall sound-quality (but could not afford new ER4P!)

The Etymotics are the better phone - but not by a massive margin - this in my view makes the Nuforce NE7M an astonishing bargain for the money. In comparison to similar priced earphones they are way-ahead (say the Etymotic ER6i)
