Sales of smartphones have continued to rise at an impressive 27% since this time last year. It is good news for almost all smartphone manufacturers with RIM s market share increasing by 1.4% to 18.7, HTCs increasing by 1.9% to 6% and Apple s jumping from 2.8 all the way up to 13.3%. Nokia saw a drop of 2.4% to 45% and the ‘others’ saw the biggest loss from 25.1% to 13.9%.
These figures suggest that the market is becoming more focussed around the main players and that Apple will be moving above RIM at some stage. Let’s not forget that Android could dent the iPhone and leave RIM clear for another leap forward. Will be interesting to see the changes in another 6 months. More at AppleInsider.
