iPhone developer raises price of game to $39.99 in protest

Schiau Studios has raised the price of Alchemize from $2.99 to $39.99 just for this weekend, making it the most expensive game in the App Store. The reason is because the developer has received over 3400 emails complaining that the original price is too much and this is a protest about how people perceive value for money. Good for them! $2.99 is not a lot, but for some people anything over $0.99 is expensive when it comes to mobile games and they need a reality check.
