This question ties in with today’s main article. Would you (or have you already) move from your current network provider to get the phone that you want from another carrier? I personally hate the idea, but may do given the right phone.

Yes – already done so.
But i have to add, there was a second reason. There is an intermittent vodafone signal at my house (So often no signal, calls dropped, etc.)
I get a constant 3-4 bars with O2, and the shiny Pre is a coincidence…
I moved to o2 to get an iPhone, but I had already been planning to leave orange. They have a very poor signal at my parents house and on more than one occasion I found they had poor deals for a new phone for existing customers, but very good ones for new customers.
Left T-Mobile for the iPhone on AT&T.
Like other above, I moved from T-Mobile to O2 to get the iPhone. I was very happy with T-Mobile, but am equally happy on O2 – in fact I get a better signal on O2/iPhone than I ever did with T-Mob and my previous phones.
Never done so yet. While the OS platform tends to be important to me I tend to adapt to what smartphone I can get on my (rather cheap) monthly contract. Either that or I buy sim free. I’ve also been content with Vodafone for a few years now and am reluctant to change.
Wouldn’t hesitate to do so but I wouldn’t move to t-mobile – no way of getting a signal in our house. Had a phone on t-mob once and had to walk up the street to chat to people – not the best idea really. Have had contracts with all main providers and can’t say any of them have made me want to stay with them come what may. For me it’s the best available phone on the best available tarif that wins the day.
We have because they give better deals to new customers than to existing ones – something I am just too stupid to get.that methinks.
I do dislike the idea of having to change mobile providers just because I want a particular phone, but it wouldn’t stop me either I suppose.
