How many eBooks a year do you read and what do you read them on? I used to read lots, but the geographic restriction nonsense has stopped me and I don’t want to buy a dedicated reader.

I do most of my reading on my iPhone, and most of that is in the form of audiobooks, not ebooks (I guess the split is about 80% audiobooks, and 20% ebooks). The primary advantage is that I can listen to a book while doing other things such as driving, errands and other chores. It’s quite an expensive hobby – audiobooks are much more expensive than the physical variety or, indeed, ebooks – but I feel I have no other option. On the whole, I find it very enjoyable, and can get lost in a book just as easily as when reading the printed word. I have “read” about 50 books in this way over the past couple of years, which is way more than would have been possible otherwise.
I read one a quarter on my hd2 , Reading the lost symbol at moment.
One – and that was over 18 months ago on my Centro.
I’ve tried…honestly I have, but I just can’t get on with e-books.
I’ve got e-reader installed on my iPhone, and I’ve downloaded several books, but everytime I try, I get about 4 pages in and give up.
I used to but not any more for 2 reasons. webOS doesn’t have eReader yet and the region locking.
One e-book a month on my Palm T5.
I find reading an e-book on my current E71 a bit of a strain after reading on the T5.
However, agree with Shaun, the ridiculous geographical restrictions are making the selection of reading material more and more difficult.
I’ve read loads this year – I’d say about 40 books in total split between my iPod touch and my Sony Reader. I got through 4 books on a 2 week holiday this year and had to download another to travel home with! I love the fact that I can go away on vacation with the Sony Reader and it’s the size of a very slim paperback, yet can carry as many books as my SD card will take!
I’m not sure how many… but 3 in the last few months. I’m afraid that region restrictions have forced me to find other means to acquire books. I use my E71 with Mobireader and I’m happy with it on the whole. My main criteria is that I have something with me where ever I go. I suppose my Palm TX would be (was!) more comfortable… but I don’t want to carry around an extra thing just to read some books.
