We recently ran a competition in which you had to give us your best definition of a smartphone, an object which no-one seems to be able to define. I went through the list multiple times and finally decided that Bill G came up with the simplest description of what a smartphone should be. His entry is below and the Touch Diamond is on the way to him in the US (I wish you lot would live nearer to save postal costs:))
“A smartphone is an internet capable mobile device capable of running multiple applications in a true operating system environment. It allows the user to customize the interface, install additional applications and to create a personal mobile environment for their needs.”
