How easy was your smartphone to set up when you first received it? I ask because a colleague at work recently bought a Nokia E71 and the set up process brought back all of the hassle involved in setting up a new Symbian device. A great phone, but Nokia needs to do some serious work on first impressions.

To set up the homescreen is strange I agree. But what’s worse is that when I went to my wife’s Nokia I had to start the search all over again to find where they’d buried the settings for it on her phone. I know where to look, but once I asked my wife to try something whilst I was driving and she said the phone makes her dizzy (trying to get somewhere) and I could look myself when we got to where we were going. So I said “But this way you learn to do it yourself…” No, she gets confused.
What was difficult about setting up the E71 though?
