What is the most bizarre product placement of a smartphone you have seen? Philippa came up with the question and quoted the Sony Ericsson in Casino Royale- a strange phone for James Bond to use. The Nokia in the Matrix worked well though.

I was at the movies the other day and there was a trailer for movie where the guy can’t look at Medusa directly. He uses the shiny back of his iPod as a mirror. The iPod logo is exceptionally prominant.

I remember seeing the Nokia E90 being used by the contestants on The Apprentice – they always spoke into it with the device open, looking really stupid.
In keeping with the rest of their performances I guess…
Sony signed a big deal with the James Bond people for product placement – I remember there were Vaio laptops and the phones they used were UIQ-based P1s!!!
Odd for a character that is renowned for his gadgets to use a mass market phone! I seem to remember Pierce Brosnan using a Nokia Communicator to control a BMW in a previous Bond movie too!
It wasn’t an actual model on the market, but I did get a kick out of the fact that pre-adolescent James T. Kirk’s step-dad had a Nokia wired up on the dash of his classic Corvette in the new “Star Trek”.
