QOTD: The next big thing?

qotd27What do you expect to be the next big feature in the smartphone world? With so many already catered for it is difficult to choose, but video calling seems to be obvious to me if the rumours surrounding the next iPhone are to be believed.

On the iPhone the next great feature will be video calling! Well Apple wil tell us this is great innovation!

Given that Smartphones are becoming less ‘smart’, the next great feature will be the ability to make on screen hand written notes on capacittaive screens! A feature we’va had in real Smartphones for years and years.

If Apple do have video calling and video chat on the next gen iPhone, then almost certainly it’ll catch on, even though loads of other people have had the feature before. Apple do seem to have the ability to bring something that was previously a bit geeky to the mass market. No doubt they’d create a really cool TV ad for it and sell it to us. I’ve always said I didn’t need it, but they’re very persuasive! LOL

I do know but I’m not telling. Just getting the patent sorted so that when Apple bring it out I can sue them.

Ho ho…that’s so funny Jah and so completely unexpected of you, having a cheap pop at Apple…by the way, did you know that WM7 will have multi-tasking after all?…Yes, you’ll just need to carry two phones around with you.
Judging by the dismal spelling in your comment, obviously these “capacittaive” devices “we’va… had for years” don’t have built in spell checking? Perhaps that would be a good thing to have next then.

I don’t know what the next big thing is or will be. I do know what is needed though, integration. The idea behind one place to sync everything else is very badly needed. Imagine have one worldwide meeting place that everyone can sync PIM with and share on ideas and projects. This is what is needed. We have way too many different approaches to doing things; this leads to more confusion. I believe that this is what Google is trying to do; but it still needs way more work. One app on a smartphone that will login and give you access to work and home documents, files, PIM, social networking, IM, and a workplace for sharing. This is what is needed and wanted by more and more people. Yes, this is a pipe dream; but one that I would love to see. Then it would not matter what platform you have. Make everything work together not separate; integration, not explosion.
