The LapDock has been announced and effectively turns the iPad + keyboard accessory into a lalptop, albeit a rather ungainly one looking at the video below-
Clove is now shipping the HTC Desire for £387.75. First stock arrived today with more on the way next week- this could be the most powerful smartphone in the world at the moment, in fact it likely is.

Wikipedia, of all places, has published some very good pictures of the HTC Incredible alongside all of the available details of this ultra-powerful smartphone. When I said the Desire was the most powerful, that will no doubt change when the Incredible arrives.
Nokia has bought MetaCarta Inc. which is a company specialising in local search services. It is a small aquisition, the company is only 30 people strong, but good things may come out of it.
RIM has also bought QNX Software Systems which specialises in making software for use in vehicles such as trucks and cars. Could we see the BlackBerry platform built into new cars in the future?
Now this is a potential shock. Rumours are starting to emerge that HTC is in talks to by Palm which has sent shares spiralling upwards. I had a call earlier this afternoon saying that the talks were ‘close to completion’. Could this merely be a patent buyout to offer more clout in the ongoing legal issues with Apple?
There is a Windows Mobile trogan doing the rounds that, believe it or not, can make international calls with the owner’s permission. More details are at 1800PocketPC so be careful out there!

Well not a laptop, but maybe a netbook. Oh, only it can’t be called that as that name is owned by Psion.
who are psion? welll over a decade ago they made a small laptop device that they called the ‘netbook’ hence they own the name. The Netbook was a more business oriented version of the Psion 7 – a laptop type device, but smaller with instant on, and a touchscreen – wait a minute….
No it’s ok that was a totally different concept – apparently it could multitask!
The LapDock has got to be a joke huh? I certainly hope so, and even if it isn’t, it still made me laugh!
The Psion netbook with some small updates (make that big considering the years of neglect it has suffered) could a lot of new business. People have changed their mind about small, instant on, practical and 24/7 Internet. I am absolutely loving my Asus 9″ screen netbook, but it would be even better with instant on. BUT today I hooked it up to a printer to scan and print a few things,it is practically married to my USB modem (if only I could just stick the SIM card straight into the damn thing!) I hooked it up my external HD drive where I store all my music, films and things I don’t need “on the go” and I hooked up my external disk drive to burn a cd for someone. Yet what I lug around has been severely cut back, and I have stopped using my E71 to go online (I’m sure if I had an iPhone or such like it would be a different story!) Some of us don’t demand that much, but we need to be able to use the thing in everyday life. Something like the Psion netbook could bridge the gap between consumer iPad appeal, and wanting versatility.
Rant finished.
HTC purchase of Palm will help it with its patents dispute with Apple as Palm own a lot of basic PDA & Smartphone patents.
