The Cut My Sim product could be needed pretty soon if manufacturers start to use the new micro SIM in big numbers. It offers a clean cut for your current SIM card and crucially a ‘back to normal’ feature so you can use it again as a full sized SIM. A good idea, but at $29 you may wish to club together with some friends so you can all use it, only once.

As you say – for something you use once it seems like a lot. However, it’d be better than sitting down with a craft knife and trying to hack at a sim yourself.
