This is not a question of the day or an article, but I am curious as to if you have used FaceTime yet on your iPhone 4 and what you think of it. Also, do any of you who do not own the iPhone 4 make video calls from your smartphone and how do you find the experience?
Personally I would like to see it work with webcams and outside of just the iPhone because this seriously limits its potential at the moment.
By the way- the person in the picture is Gavin, the only person I have FaceTimed with so far. Yes, he really does look like that:)

No I don’t . It’s the camera adding extra fat
but is that you Shaun hiding top right
Must admit though it was really good experience and the funny bit was Shaun’s daughter took over the call, thinking I was a talking robot. Great fun and really showed the potential. The quality was excellent.
Off to the gym. Or how about a cooked breakfast:)
meh, I have tried it pre apples ‘invention’ of it, and it isn’t really a feature I care to use on my mobile phone.
I first used video calling with a moto smartphone as far back as 2003. Was good for keeping in touch with the family when I was working away. But novelty did not last very long.
I think this will expand and catch on particularly when available on 3G even if it is at reduced frame rates. You can’t hold back the future.
Even so, I think there will be plenty of small pieces of electrical tape on camera lenses too.

I’m waiting for the first Sunday tabloid report of a footballer FaceTime-ing with someone that isn’t his wife or girlfriend. Once that happens you’ll know it’s gone mainstream! LOL
I guess it’ll put an end to good old prank calls huh?
Not yet – don’t know anyone else apart from Shaun and Gavin with iphone 4′s
Peter
Peter hit the nail on the head. The people who have the new iPhone and the people I want to talk to add up to zero. Until this works with more systems it is just another worthless “feature.”
