For those of you who still fondly remember Palm OS Graffiti, but have moved on to Android there is some good news. You can now try Grafitti (the original and best version) on your phone with Grafitti for Android. It comes direct from Access so if official and the only issue may be the lack of a stylus. Let us know what you think of it.
“Graffiti™ for Android is the popular, single-stroke handwriting recognition system, originally developed by PalmSource, Inc. This application enables Graffiti functionality on your Android phone, which includes the original Graffiti strokes, complete with the two-part silkscreen, as well as Graffiti Help.”

i haue jhust intalled it Cant remebef how to do all letters Seems really tslow Dont like it
Back to Swype. It’s not very easy without a stylus. I remember now why I fell in love with the Treo keyboard.
Had a bit more of a play with it. The problem is that with a stylus you can do very quick strokes whereas you have to move your fingers quite a lot on a capacitive screen. It is really slow and quite inaccurate. I can’t imagine that anyone would use it as their primary input method but I may be wrong
This may be worth trying on some of the cheaper Android phones with small screens and resistive touch screens. Add a PalmOS emulator for Android and we can be back in 1997 just like that!
I didn’t know there were Android devices with resistive screens. Must look into it. Now Access have created something for the Android platform perhaps they are also planning to port their Alps emulator. I think it is based on Linux. Maybe we’ll end up with an Android device with a resistive screen and a real QWERTY keyboard on which I can run all my Palm apps. It would be the Treo I’ve always wanted. I’m getting excited about phones again. Long live 1997
Graham, there is an LG Android phone with slide out QWERTY keyboard and resistive screen…I got one from T-Mobile a few months ago
Thanks for that. Quite cheap as well
