QOTD: Digital versus ‘real’ purchases?

Are you more likely to purchase a song, film or book as a snap decision digitally than via a physical purchase? I have noticed this trend and most definitely am. See today’s main article for more on this.

Both but prefer real as better. You can rip original cd many times, at desired quality. If your pc gets a virus, your digital music could be destroyed. Real is virus free.

I don’t buy much digital music or films but, books – yes, far, far easier to succomb to buying a digital copy. Using the Kindle app (for PC and iPhone) allows for a buffer by downloading a sample first – very useful.

don’t do what a friend’s dodgy mate did. rip all his and his wife’s music off CD, sell all the CDs on ebay, and not have a backup and accidentally reformat his computer when reinstalling windows!! she was very unhappy!

I have tended to buy application without thinking about it too much. It almost feels like you’re not really spending any real money. But the satisfaction of buying something from a store, bringing it home and unpacking it is more satisfying on the whole.

Can’t you buy music online and then burn it on a cd?

I definitely do. It is terrible of me and ebooks, music and audiobooks.
