I have turned off the mobile version of 247 to ascertain why some of you cannot view the standard desktop version on a laptop or desktop computer. If you are having this problem please add a comment to this article. I am working on the problem and hope to have it fixed very soon.

The new layout looks good in full mode on my iPad and iPhone . Cant get mobile view as switch gone.
I got it once on my netbook the other day. Surprised the hell out of me. It used to bug me how Opera mini and mobile would always take me to the mobile site, when I really wanted the full site. I’m not a big fan of cut down mobile sites where you have to keep clicking links to get more info and you don’t get the lovely pictures.
Sorry, just actually provide you with some possibly useful information rather than my clap-trap above. It only happened once at the end of last week sometime. I run XP and use Chrome for my browser… I’m not actually sure if that is of any use…
Just a quick follow up to my earlier post. The browser I was using was the latest version of Safari on my five-year old iMac (PowerPC chip). Don’t know if that helps at all.
Is it working now Trevor?
I have to say, the desktop version looks terrific on the iPhone 4′s retina display.
Yes, but the mobile version is still turned off. Correct?
Yes it will be until I work out what’s wrong. Wondering if 247 even needs a mobile version?
I like the mobile version on my 3GS.
The mobile site will be back tomorrow evening. Will be slightly different.
I think I’m going to keep the full version as the default on my iPhone 4. It just looks great – almost perfect, actually. Was this aspect of the design intentional?
Second lazyboy as the new layout is so readable in full mode
on the iPhone 4.
I experienced the problem myself this morning and lost access completely using a mobile. Have now disabled all mobile plug-ins and will monitor for the next day or two.
