Which mobile phone or smartphone was the most ahead of its time in your opinion? I would say that the Treo 650 probably was for me because it was the first smartphone that really could do multiple tasks well. It wasn’t overly reliable, but was a breath of fresh air compared to what else was available at the time.

The Nokia 7710 was the first high res media oriented Smartphone, released around December 2005. The form factor was similar to the Dell Streak. The screen resolution was about 640 x 350. And remember Symbian was multi tasking from day one. I still have one
Treo 650 was announced October 2004 and was much more useable than any Nokia of the time. It launched a whole raft of smartphones, a design format that many still love to this day. Funny/ironic how Palm have now virtually vanished from the smartphone top table and Nokia are heading that way too….despite both having a head start.
And we most not forget the SE P800 from 2002, it had a touch screen, keyboard, camera and MP3 player! But no wifi. I have a feeling the first wifi equipped Smartphone may have been wm.
Hang on Jah and Murray. I recall the i624 in 1999. Far far superior.
Gavin, is the i624 Samsung? Was it feature phone or Smartphone? The oldest touch screen Smartphone I had was from 2000 the Ericsson r380.
