Have you tried Ping yet and what are your thoughts? I have tried it and must say that it looks OK, but I am not convinced it is flexible enough to be more than an add-on to iTunes.
The amount of spam already on the service is incredible- every single item I can see in my list has a spam reply.
I set it up and got quickly annoyed with the messages saying my iTunes reviews were now going to have a different name associated with them (it defaults to your real one). Then I looked at the recommendations which seemed to be based on what was played a lot, unfortunately that includes my sons favourite tunes so I was recommended more Alvin and the Chipmonks. Then I got annoyed that I could only choose three genres of music that I liked. I deleted it at that point.
I’m struggling to see the point of it at the moment, perhaps others have had a better experience?
Apple over did how important it would be. As you said it is a good addon but I cant see much else about it that I like so far.
It’s early days. I use it but more out of curiosity. And not a lot. I’m sure more stuff will be added later.
