QOTD: Punctuation?

I have asked this question before, but want to know if I am the only one. When you add a calendar entry, contact or anything else that others do not see, do you still use proper capitals and punctuation? I do all of the time no matter what I am typing.

Always. I thought it was just me being a bit OCD.

It’s not OCD, it’s CDO. MUST be alphabetical!!!

  8. Graham says:

I disagree. I think it should be COD. I like mnemonics to sound like real words.

  9. Did you hear about the dyslexic, abnostic, insomniac?
He lay awake all night worrying about dog…

  10. Alison says:

Yes. I also use full punctuation and spelling in SMS.

Me ten? (I’ve lost count.) I’m surprised that it seems unanimous. A follow up would be whether everyone uses caps and punctuation when they text (besides the abbreviations). And whether this is age related at all.

    It’s definitely a generational thing.

  14. Shaun says:

Wally who is over 70 and visits 247 never uses any punctuation or capital letters.

  15. bobbd says:

Second childhood :-) Says one who is hopefully only a few years away. Great excuse. It’s just that the toys are fancier.

I use proper spelling and punctuation all the time, even in SMS messages. The idea of getting sloppy with my writing even on a phone just offends my sensibilities. Maybe not a generational thing as Shaun mentioned above, but I’d almost bet us older folks tend to be more “anal” about this than young’uns who are generally more casual.
