The Samsung Galaxy S has now sold 2 million units in Koreo in 6 months which compares favourably with the 1.8 million iPhones sold in one year. Samsung expects the Galaxy S to reach the magic 10 million mark by the end of the year as well which also compares quite well to the 14 million global sales the iPhone achieved by October. This isn’t of course a battle of who wins, but when the press continually compare iPhone to ‘Android’, it is still good to see one phone battling it on its own. More at The Chosunilbo.

“..The iPhone 4, which debuted in the global market around the same time as the Galaxy S”….
Is that right? I thought the S had been out longer? In addition, some might say it is good to see the iPhone battling Android on its own otherwise the latter would be dominating even more.
It is a little skewed actually. In Korea the Galaxy beat the iPhone, but globally the 4 is beating it. The timing was for Korea and Galaxy v iPhone. Agree that the iPhone does the battling on it’s own, but people do tend to view it as iPhone v Android anyway and it’s good to point out the huge sales of the Galaxy on it’s own.
True, personally I prefer HTC stuff to Samsung phones. Every Samsung phone I’ve owned has been knacked in some way. Of course, Android is not a phone…it is an OS.
Funny I have found that very HTC device I have had has some big ‘problem’, generally very poor battery but in the case of the HTC Desire crippled available memory for app installs.. I have worked around that with Apps2Sd+ but the average user wouldn’t do that and would probably be better off with th Galaxy I think..
Actually I can exclude the HTC Magic, for what it was it was a great phone..
But again the Magic needed a custom ROM to open up the available memory.. 100MB of user memory to install apps is a sad joke…

Really? That’s a pity as I was thinking of getting one now they are a bit cheaper..I see that CPW have dropped the price of the new Google phone by £100, to a more reasonable £429. I do like the HTC sense set up though..
