qotd27How much have you spent on mobile software in the past 6 months and what platform are you using? I am guessing that iPhone users buy the most titles, but that other platform users maybe spend more.

qotd27Are you seen by friends and colleagues as a ‘nerd’ when it comes to smartphones, and are you often asked for help by other people? Fair to say I am…

qotd27Do you have a lot of data on your smartphone that you rarely use? I must admit to having lots of photos, videos and files that I rarely refer to, but I just like having them with me. Yes, I am a mobile hoarder. Are you?

qotd27What activity do you never undertake on your smartphone? Updating PDA-247 is the main one for me- the Wordpress app just isn’t good enough yet on the BlackBerry (and there is no image editing) and the lack of multi-tasking on the iPhone is a problem, even though the app is much better on that platform.

I ask because a colleague at work recently bought a Nokia E71 and the set up process brought back all of the hassle involved in setting up a new Symbian device. A great phone, but Nokia needs to do some serious work on first impressions.

qotd27If you had to pick one essential third party smartphone app, what would it be? It is still Ascendo Money for me- so perfectly formed and as useful today as it has been for the past two years. Remember, only one app.

qotd27What form of communication has become more prevelant to you over the past year? BlackBerry PIN Messaging has been the only big change for me with text and voice still high on the list. Skype and other internet voice services have passed me by on my smartphone.

qotd27Which would you rather lose- your smartphone or your wallet? The problem with the wallet is all the hassle of changing credit cards etc., but the problem with the smartphone is having to live without it and starting all over again. I think I would go for losing the smartphone, but only just.

qotd27What is the most you would pay for a smartphone? I suspect that many of you will say a lot and I probably fall into that category. If the functions are right and I perceive it to be good value, the sky is the limit. OK, £500 as a maximum for me, but it needs to be very good.
