After lots of head scratching, last week’s winner is Maureen who sent in this picture taken on an iPhone. It was difficult because there were some great ones last week, but the colours in the sky are magnificent.

“No, it’s not a Borg cube, but rather Belfast’s City Hospital. Frankly, it looks better in the photo than it does in real-life. Taken with my Palm Pre and the built-in camera application without any post-edits.” Andrew

“It’s a panoramic photo. Location: Birkenhead Point Shopping Center. Sydney. Australia. Reference URL = http://www.birkenheadpoint.com.au/ Date taken: Sat 17 April. Time: Approx 3:30pm

Handset used: Iphone camera plus a nifty application called “pano” which allows you to take a series of photos and it will photo stitch them together on the Iphone itself. The angle of view would be about 200 degrees arc. (Imagine standing against the wall and looking from the left shoulder to the right shoulder – a bit more than 180 degree arc)
No post processing was done on the photo – what you see is what I took using the Iphone.

Birkenhead Point Shopping Center was recently refurbished and a new glass roof installed. The center overlooks wonderful water views of Sydney at the entrance of the Iron Cove Bay – next to the Parramatta River.” Cheers Eric Shen

Snap of the week, no planes, 3 things…

The snap of the week goes to Statto for this picture taken on his iPhone 3G at  Busch Gardens- it exemplifies catching the moment. He will win $10 of smartphone software of his choice.

On the subject of smartphone snaps, I just took the one below which is remarkably boring and unique at the same time- the lack of planes in the air at the moment means that a perfect blue sky is possible for a brief moment in time. Even more unique because I live within 3 miles of Gatwick Airport.

Finally, I have a request. I am looking for 3 items and if you have one for sale please get in touch via shaun (at) mailstm.co.uk (UK only please) with details of condition and your asking price. The items in question are a BlackBerry Curve 83xx series, Psion 7 and low-end Mac laptop. Specs are not an issue, but if you can help I would be grateful.
